Where Would You Travel To If You Could Stay There For Free?

Europe, New England, Australia, or somewhere in the United States? Think about it for a minute. Dare to dream. Just where would you travel if you could stay there absolutely free?

lake housePicture yourself setting in a log cabin by a beautiful Lake. You’re setting in a comfortable leather recliner looking out of three big bay windows where you can see tall pines covered in healthy green moss and the shimmering of the big lake nearby. Maybe there’s a big ole chubby grey cat curled at your feet. You’re so relaxed. You have no electric bills, no gas bills, nothing to worry about except buying your food and putting gas in the car, which you have access to also.

If this scene doesn’t strike you as what you are looking for, imagesthen dream of a beach house right on the beach, a cabin in the snow, a cottage in Ireland, a ranch in Colorado, where ever your imagination can take you. Now would you like me to show you how to make your dreams come true? Because, they can for single people, retired couples and even families.

What I am talking about is House-sitting. As a housesitter, you are able to experience what it is really like to live in certain areas. Most of the people (but not all) have a pet that they also want you to care for. It might be a cat or a dog or a horse or maybe some other pet. You choose from a very large selection images (1)of people from all over the world. They, themselves, are usually going on a vacation somewhere and they need some one to take care of their home and their pet while they are away. You stay for free and get to enjoy all of the scenery and/or events that might be taking place where you are at.

I found this great little hand-book that teaches you everything you need to know about how to become a house sitter. It’s written by two full time sitters. They are retired and enjoying just traveling all over the world. Whether it be for a week or two, a year or as a full time lifestyle this book tells you all you need to know to do the same. They show you how to find and get the perfect house sit. The handbook’s 10 chapters are organized to walk you through the process from total inexperience to the completion of your first housesit. They teach you how to make the most of the benefits and opportunities that exist for house sitting worldwide.

This book is definitely worth reading if this sounds at all interesting to you. House sits are available for weekends, long weekends, weeks, and months. You have so much to choose from. This book shows you everything you need to know, because not only do you have to find a house, they also have to approve of you. After you have done it for a while, it gets easier. Take your time and check it out. It won’t be a waste of time. Also check out this link, house-sitters, to look at getting started. Inside the book you will find links to several other sites.

How Far Away Is Your Airport?

How far away is your airport? Do you have to get up extremely early in order to get to the airport you fly out of or do you have to rent a room the night before in order to be on time? Would you fly out of a different airport that is farther away, for a better rate, if it wasn’t for the fact that you would have to drive there and stay overnight in order to be on time?

If any of these questions are part of the problems you face when flying, I may just have an answer that will help you save money and solve any of these problems for you. I have found some packages called Park, Sleep and Fly or just Park and Fly. Often less then the cost of parking alone, these packages offer convenient parking and hotel accommodation options when travelers leave or return from their vacation. You can sleep before you travel or sleep after you fly, the choice is all yours.

Home Exchange?

How familiar are you with Home Exchange? Is it really safe? Members of are taking, on average, over 110,000 individual vacations per year., established in 1992, has been featured in major media worldwide, including the Today Show and the New York Times. This is a fast growing market. At first it mostly started out with retired people but has fast spread to the baby boomers and to young families. If you think your house is to small to list, think again. There are many big city dwellers that just want to get away to somewhere quaint and away from all the hustle and bustle. List your house.

The Home Exchange Community is based on honesty, trust and commitment. You are advised to swap  emails and try to get a feel for each other. Try to get to know each other somewhat. You both will have to list pictures of your home. It’s best if you can point out any special features, best restaurantsspecial sites, comments about the neighbor hood, or any other amenities that you feel are important.

Meeting is purely optional, swapping vehicles is also optional, but should not be done until you check on what your insurance covers. It is advisable to lock up any valuables and financial documents. Electricity and gas is normally just considered an even swap also, but in reality, everything is decided between each of you before the swap and the two parties can include or exclude any thing they decide upon.

As a summary, Home Exchanges is growing vastly. It’s a very economical way to travel to places you never dreamed possible. What you would normally spend on a hotel or motel can be used for gas or flights or even just saved, depending on how far away the swap is. Many people are enjoying it so much that it has became the only way they vacation.

Flight Hacking Made Easy: Product Overview

Every time I go to book a flight, I try every single search engine I know. I check over and over until I just get so frustrated I just pick one. In this book, written by Justin Bakker, he shows you how to use one system that will save you hundreds on your next flight.

The information Justin shows in this book has nothing to do with booking your flight on a Tuesday morning, nor is it about calling customer service and pretending you are an angry or dissatisfied customer. You won’t have to use your Frequent Flyer miles although you can if you want to. What you will be doing is searching for your tickets in a different way then you are used to.

This book is a real eye opener and only takes about 30 minutes to read. It goes into detail about how to save money when buying your airline tickets. I would recommend, anyone that has flown or ever plans to fly, reading this book before purchasing any flight tickets. It could save you hundreds of dollars.

Donate Your Car, Get Free Vacation

sell your carI was out just out surfing the web and I came across this page, I’m not going to tell you I recommend it, because I have never heard of them. It looks like it might be something worth checking in to if you have an older car, truck, boat, rv, or motorcycle (running or not) that you would like to get rid of.

They are offering you a 3 day, 2 night stay at one of 13 destinations with 47 different locations to choose from in exchange for your trade.  It appears they have several places in Florida, Virginia,  Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, California, Hawaii and Mexico.

They donate these cars to help out the less fortunate in poorer countries and they donate books to prisons among many other types of outreach programs. The books they donate to inmates are actually relevant to their situations and include different types of books such as motivational books. These books are stored in the prison library and are available, free, to all inmates. Your donations help make all this possible.

They offer fast, nationwide towing free, print you an instant donation receipt then you sign over the title and give the keys to the driver. You get to save on your taxes plus get a free vacation.

They also take many other items for donation and you  get to choose where your donation goes. If I had an old vehicle setting around, I would give them a call and at least check it out. Go to their website at or call them toll-free at 1-800-227-2643

Best Budget Vacation- How Much will I Sacrafice?

Being a Budget Traveler and getting the Best Budget Vacation doesn’t just mean saving money, but also traveling in the smartest, most stylish way possible. How do we do this? Keep reading and you can join the millions of people already using these techniques.

Haven’t you ever wondered, “How in the world, can that person afford to travel that way?”Stay with me and you, too, may be traveling, better, yet cheaper then you have in the past.

There’s a Reasonably Priced Hotel Room With Your Name on It

Don’t just snap up the first room that seems reasonably priced. Do your research – how close are you to the attractions you are looking for? Call the Hotel and ask for the best price, the most appropriate room options, and for a free upgrade. You will be surprised at what some Hotels can do that is unadvertised.

I usually like to find at least 2 or 3 different Hotels that interest me and then call each one. Sometimes you can even pit once against the other. The more often you do this, the better you will get at it.

Did You Know There is A Best Day To Buy Airline Tickets?Plane

Yes, believe it or not, there is. Buy your airline tickets about two months before you fly, and buy them on a Tuesday. You will likely get your best price by doing this. Another good tip is to follow all major airlines on social media, sign up for there rewards programs, and subscribe to their free e-newsletters to get the inside track on deals.

There is Also A Best Time of Day to Pick up Your Rental Car!

You want to pick up your rental car first thing in the morning. Budget Travelers book the smallest car and pick up time as early as possible. The early bird gets the free upgrade. Most travelers won’t have returned their small cars yet and they will be out of stock . The Rental Agency is obligated to give you a car and therefore will have to offer you an upgrade.

The Two Best Times to Book a Cruise.

Booking your cruise 6 mts to a year in advance is ususaly the first time of getting a better price. Supply is high and demand is relatively flat. The next best time to book a cruise is in the last two weeks. The Cruise Line may scramble to fill cabins and once again you swoop in and find a deal.

National State Parks – Beautiful and Affordable-

ParkCompared with any other vacation spot on earth, our national parks—and many state parks for that matter—deliver serious bang for the buck. Sure they normally charge an admission fee, but it’s per car not per person.  Lodgings inside a National Park can be around $200.00 per night, but once inside the park, the wildlife, trails, ranger talks, evening presentations, junior ranger programs, and just about everything else is on the house. Sometimes that can be a real deal.

The Biggest Secret In Travel

Airlines and hotels are willing to practically give away their inventory rather than see it go empty. That’s right. Airlines sell their seats at rock-bottom prices. Hotels do the same for their rooms. Why haven’t you heard this before? Because they don’t exactly go parading down the street announcing it to the world. Instead, they roll those empty airplane seats and hotel beds into package deals. When you book a package deal (such as the Real Deals that Budget Travel publishes each week), you’ll get a good rate on airfare and hotels, some meals, often guided tours, and some ground transportation. Don’t believe us? Take a look at a package deal and then try to book the airfare and hotel separately—the package will almost always be significantly less.

Trying to Get Away on a Romantic Getaway

Tell everybody! Sounds a little strange  when you’re trying to get some alone time with your Significant Other, but mentioning your romantic status to flight attendents, waiters, and hotel managers can yield complimentary wine, upgrades, private balconies, and other surprises.

Your Next Trip Can Also be Right at Your Fingertips

You don’t have to Fly or go on a Cruise to have a great vacation. Some of the best trips are to be had on America’s Highways. Budget travelers love ‘one tank escapes’. You can start by exploring locales within acar two-hour drive from your home. For most Americans, that includes gorgeous parkland, cool small towns, food you won’t find at home, and often the kinds of surprises that most of us travel for.

I hope you enjoyed reading my tips and suggestions. Please feel free to leave comments and maybe you even  have some tips you would like to include.

You can afford to go on that trip, after all.
